The Irish Caravan and Camping Council began life in 1960, and became a limited company
in 1969.Its constitution and framework is modelled on that of the UK-based National
Caravan Council.
The present day organisation is composed of approximately 100 caravan and camping park operators,
whose sites are Bord Failte registered and have fulfilled the stringent criteria laid down by the Bord.
In addition to park members, an influential core group of caravan manufacturers,dealers, and equipment
suppliers make up the additional membership.

are united in this trade representative body. The ICC operates entirely through voluntary self-regulation and constantly strives to monitor, uphold and upgrade industry standards, facilities and services
in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
The caravan and camping sector in Ireland is one of Europe's greatest natural resources. The sector has gone from strength to strength in the past decade just as tourism in Ireland has become big business.
The remit of the Irish Caravan and Camping Council is to:
• Deliver a high quality tourism product and service to an increasingly discriminatory
tourist
• Develop a coherent and strategic marketing programme for caravan and camping in Ireland.
• Implement training and general support packages for park operators <
• Through membership of the European Caravan Federation and the European Federation of Camping Site Organisations, represent the views of the Irish caravan industry on a European stage
• By combining and utilising group resources, the ICC identifies new markets and works towards increasing market share in the international arena
